History
The Spencer James Group was established in 2003 to provide executive search services to the employee benefits industry. Our clients’ goals are foremost in our vision/mission and their needs are clear to us: a search firm that listens to their requirements, understands their business, and delivers the best candidates in the shortest time frame.
The Spencer James Group, was started by Steve Faulkner. Steve has fostered relationships with many leading insurance organizations around the country, representing them in finding top sales and account management talent. The founding (and continuing goal) is to meet and exceed our clients’ expectations by identifying and placing the best possible candidates within their organizations. Equally important is helping to place candidates in opportunities that will allow company and candidate to reach their goals faster.
Steve’s experience includes over eight years in the employee-benefits industry in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a Group Sales Representative for GroupAmerica – then Standard Insurance Company – Steve was responsible for selling ancillary lines through the broker/consultant community. Steve also spent three and a half years as a producer with Acordia where he built a considerable book of business helping clients with all of their benefits from health insurance to ancillary lines to pensions.
Steve then moved into international executive search specialization in London, England where he worked on searches throughout Europe.
With a thorough base of experience, plus the ideas and desire to improve the employee search industry, Steve started The Spencer James Group in 2003.
