Steve Faulkner, CEBS, CPC, Chief Consultant

With over a decade of executive recruiting experience in the U.S. and U.K., Steve founded The Spencer James Group in 2003 to focus on the U.S. employee benefits market. Steve also has 7 years of sales experience within the group insurance industry as a wholesaler and benefits broker prior to his shift to recruiting in the industry. This experience allows him a unique and thorough perspective with both clients and candidates.

Steve graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1992 with a B.S. in Business. He is also designated as a CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) and CPC (Certified Personnel Consultant).

Yvonne Kubas, Vice President of Operations

Yvonne joined The Spencer James Group in 2006 after spending over 10 years in various sales and marketing roles for companies such as Yahoo!, Trimble Navigation, Savi Technology and Fritz Companies.

Yvonne graduated from San Diego State University in 1992 with a B.A. in International Business, and received an MBA from the University of San Francisco in 1995.

Nathan Trice, CPC, Recruiting Consultant

Nathan joined The Spencer James Group in 2011 with an extensive background in customer service, most recently with the Valdoro Mountain Lodge in Breckenridge, Colorado.

Nathan graduated with a B.S. in Geology from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 2004, where he was a member of the college’s wrestling team. Nathan is also a CPC (Certified Personnel Consultant).

Cara Minney, Research Consultant

Cara joined The Spencer James Group in 2011 with past experience in the benefits industry. Most recently, Cara worked at MetLife with the small market sales support team, where she gained experience in service issues, new case implementations, amendments and renewals.
