Remote/Hybrid – AVP of Underwriting

Job Description

We’re working on an AVP of Underwriting opportunity with an A+ rated national carrier.

This position is intended to be operationally focused first, not a senior technical underwriting role initially. We need someone who will bring structure, pace, and consistency to how underwriting functions day to day.  This role needs to actively manage attendance, deliverables and performance for clearer accountability. That includes setting expectations, measuring results, and addressing gaps in consistency or output across the team.

You must bring product knowledge and be able to vet the talent level of the team.

• Focus: Dental / Life / Disability / Worksite (2–1,000 lives)

• Travel to the HQ is required (or Relocation). Onsite a couple of days a week at least twice a month to start. It will then be a couple of days a month, every month.

• Reporting directly to VP Operations & Underwriting

• Competitive base plus 18% bonus target
